SSS Accept Sickness Benefit Reimbursement Application Online Starting July 14, 2020

outspread of coronavirus disease. Technology is one of the most significant things that we have
these pandemic times. It helps us to communicate with each other and still do our jobs even if
we’re at home. The online world is also considered a powerful tool nowadays. We are using online
services and platforms to buy our necessities. People can also go online to pay bills and access to other
Starting this July 14, Social Security System (SSS) has opened a new digital service online which is
Sickness Benefit Reimbursement Applications of employers via the SSS website. It allows employers to
file their sickness benefit reimbursement in a more easy and hassle-free way. We know that they
usually pay their employees in advance before receiving an approved sickness notification and
submitting SBRA’s form. The SSS has ongoing digital modification in their services, which makes it
more significant considering that we are facing Covid-19 condition.
This online facility helps us to avoid having a face to face interaction and long lines in their SSS
branches. To use the online facility, service, employers must first have a registered account in
My.sss website. They must also be enrolled in sickness and maternity benefit payment thru-the-bank-
program and have a registered bank account in My.sss website. Furthermore, employers need to
have a certification that the sickness benefit was paid in advance to their employees with
approved sickness notification.
Here is the procedure of the Sickness Benefit Reimbursement Application thru My.sss website.
The employer may apply by logging in to My.sss account and proceed to the E-
services tab and click “Submit SSS Sickness Benefit Reimbursement Application (SBRA)”.
Enter the SS number of the employee who is a grant to receive the sickness benefit.
A list of approved SS sickness notification will appear, wherein the employer must select the
claim reference number from the list and click the proceed key.
There will also be another form for additional information that should be filled out. Tap the
certification checkbox to certify that the info provided is correct. Moreover, the amount of
benefit paid in advance to the employee should be fair under the accordance of Section 14 RA
11199. You may now click submit and ok.
You will receive a message stating that the application was submitted successfully and
transaction details will be displayed. The SSS will also send a notification to the employer’s
Reminder: Employers may only file SBRA online for new and initial claims with approved sickness
notifications. The claim for adjustment and re-filed claims must be filed at SSS branches.
It is good to know that SSS members are becoming more familiar with online services. We know
that governments are promoting and looking forward to digital platforms and systems to make our
country more flexible and adaptable to the current situation. The Philippines are now starting to
adjust in “new normal” and continue preparing for the pandemic crisis.
